Can nanotol really be used on all surfaces?
nanotol works on all solid surfaces whether plastic, glass, wood, paint, stainless steel, etc.
Is nanotol temperature resistant?
Yes, nanotol is temperature resistant for long periods up to 200 °C.
Does nanotol contain organic solvents or alcohols?
No, nanotol does not contain any organic solvents or alcohol.
Organic solvents and alcohol destroy plastic gaskets. Please note, every nano sealant that is labeled "flammable" contains solvents or alcohol.
Is nanotol acid and base resistant?
nanotol is absolutely acid proof and base proof up to pH 12.
All other nano sealants are less acid and base resistant (pH 4-8)
Why does nanotol work on all surfaces and other sealants only on certain ones?
nanotol is a watery dispersion of nanopolymers. These nanopolymers are bonded to a king of synthetic net that acts as a carrier. This synthetic net attaches to all surfaces like velcro. In addition, nanotol bonds to the surfaces by Van der Waals forces. nanotol does not react chemically with the surface and does not change it. Other sealants based on nanoscale ceramic particles need material-specific anchor molecules, e.g. glass needs SiO2 (silicon dioxide). Each surface needs a different sealant.
Why are there so many sealants on the market?
Most of these products contain solvents based on nanoscale ceramic particles. The manufacturer of these particles makes them freely available under a private brand. Products with nanoscale ceramic particles and solvents are thus bottled more or less professionally and sold under various company names. These providers are not manufacturers; they often lack profesional competence in the cleaning product, coating, and nanotechnology sector.
Is nanotol food safe?
Yes, nanotol is TÜV certified and is the only sealant that is food safe and non-harmful acc. to § 31 of the Food, commodities, and animal feed code.
Can I use the sealant without the primer?
No, you should always clean the surface with the primer before sealing. There should be no residue on the surface to allow the sealant to bond completely with the surface.
Can the nanotol primer be used alone?
Yes, the nanotol primer cleans all surfaces deep down. You will be amazed and can use the primer even without the sealant and purchase it separately.
Can I purchase nanotol sealant or nanotol primer separately?
Yes, of course you can purchase nanotol primer and nanotol sealant separately. Call us at 08085/946124. We are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. We recommend the set for new customers, as the sealant lasts longer when applied after the nanotol primer.
My car has been waxed. Can I apply nanotol anyway?
No, the wax must be removed to allow the nanotolto bond with the surface.
My paint has a few small scratches. Will they be gone after I apply nanotol®?
No. nanotol does not fill in the scratches. Please use a polish beforehand. Of course you may request a professional polish from us. Please contact us by email after ordering so that we can include the polish in your delivery. Cost approx. € 20 per vehicle.
Is nanotol suitable for new paint?
Yes, nanotol is perfect for new paint, because it contains no solvents or abrasive particles and preserves the condition of the paint.
My car has a few scratches. How should I pretreat the paint?
Follow this procedure for scratched vehicles:
- Sand and polish with slightly oily abrasives. This removes the impurities on the finish.
- Wash the vehicle with diluted primer. For optimal results, use softened or distilled water.
- Fill the scratches with wax oil (available from us for € 20 plus € 3 shipping). The polish may contain no wax, oil, or silicone. Allow 10 hours to bond properly.
- Spray the nanotol sealant and distribute it with a sponge. Allow to dry and shine with the white microfiber cloth.
I have a new car, do I still need to use the nanotol primer first?
Yes, please use the nanotol primer in any case, as this prepares the surface for sealing optimally.
I used nanotol in the bathroom. The water doesn't bead up properly.
You properly have very hard water. For the nanopolymers in nanotol the limescale on the surface is like a mountain range, the netlike structure of the nanopolymers cannot be really effective on it. Please descale the surface thoroughly before sealing.
How is nanotol applied?
nanotol is very easy to use. Please read the exact method here.
Are safety data sheets available?
Yes, you can download the safety data sheets as a PDF and print them out:
Safety data sheet for nanotol® primer
Safety data sheet for nanotol® sealant
Can nanotol be sprayed on?
Yes, nanotol can be sprayed on. For private household use, we offer the spray bottle set. Professional vehicle conditioners can apply nanotol with the spray pistol. Please call us for exact instructions. Tel.: 08085/946124. We are available from Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
